Another Monday

It's another Monday morning, except it really isn't just any Monday morning... it's the last Monday before Christmas, we'd just lit all 4 Advent Candles at mass yesterday morning... ( psst... i've always thought that the advent candles should be kept lit for 4 weeks till Christmas, but apparently they extinguish them after mass and light them up again every week! flabbergasted .) as i was saying, the candles were lit yesterday signifying Christmas is at hand!! Christmas on the island = mad-buying, panic-buying and loads of impulse-buying. all of which we didn't succumb to, cos there ain't a lot of people to buy presents for! there were the office gift-exchanges, the bottles of wine for each house party/dinner we went to, the presents for people who have been real nice to us this year....and that's about it. no headaches at all. ( there are times when i'm pretty happy to be away from home... and then i think about my parents and sista and i miss

Some photos as promised...

One happy family - Hao-e, me and Freddie (the yellow duck) and my new Tiffany bracelet.... that's my christmas and anniversary present rolled into one! it matches the pendant and ring i have (thanks bay!) We were at Harbourfront tonight utilising the $50 voucher for our celebratory dinner. Sushi Sampler shown above - there was salmon sashimi in it too... Sea Urchin!!!! absolute yum-ness! Always a must-have at Harbourfront. Uni!! Gorging on oyster tempura... gorgeous aren't they? These turned out quite a lot better than imagined. Gonna add it to the must-haves... Choral Concert last Wednesday. I bet no once can find me... i'm in an obscure corner dwarfed by the rest... Hao-e looking spiffy and imitating the real estate agent look. we were at the BHB annual party last thurs.

Another busy week

Why do you get this empty feeling after a really busy period? last week was bam bam bam, every night there was something going on. and i've been really lazy with the camera this time - so i'll only post the pictures others took for us. oh, and btw, i won 3rd place for poker night last Saturday. the top 3 were all chinese - 1st: Kevin Liu, 2nd: Hao-e and 3rd: ME! i think we're too smart. hehehe... this week is quieter - thank God!! - just the office party tomorrow, our anniversary dinner at Harbourfront tomorrow evening, drinks with the girls at the Yacht Club on Thursday, and dinner with the McCullums on Saturday. so i'll get some time to go to the gym this evening and on wednesday amidst all the food and alcohol. i desperately need to get a grip on my weight! it's just been increasing like there's no tomorrow. but there is. argh.

what a weekend

it's been hectic this past few days... i can't even stop to take a breather, there's just not enough hours in a day. saturday, we woke up at 5.45am to send j to the airport. then it was codfish breakfast at specialty inn, shopping at pj's and the gas station. then i went home to catch 20 winks before waking up at 4pm to an email confirmation that a bunch of friends were coming over for dinner and movie at 6pm. mad rush to boil potatoes and bake the shepherd's pie... the movie - american gangster was pretty good, and we sat around and yakked till 3am. went to bed at 3.30am after sending them back to town. sun was a mad rush again, woke up in time for church, thank God. then home for another short nap before rushing off to choir practice from 2.30pm - 5pm. yesterday was back to the office, and choir practice from 7-almost 10pm. argh, no voice. no stamina.... tonight's gonna be the same again... i'm so so tired

DDR2

it has been a nightmare driving to the gym these days - everyone's out mad-shopping for the holidays. i had to circle around the gym like 6-7 times on wed before i found one pathetic parallel parking lot. that sucks lor. the feeling of suckiness was further compounded when i found to my utter (gasp!) horror that my fav instructor was off-island visiting his mother. aww... i just paid for my new aerobics card, got into my car and drove home. how pathetic is that?! so recession hasn't really hit the islanders much. everyone's still buying buying buying. unlike our "cousins" in US (yeah, i wonder why they're cousins, maybe because it's still afterall a british overseas territory). so last night, as i contemplated whether i should foray into town and risk circling round the gym like a headless chicken hunting for a meagre parking lot, i decided to stay home and make full use of the wii. do you remember those bengs at the arcade hogging those machines with 4 li
