Foodie Updates

Went to Shin Yeh at Liang Court for dinner last Wednesday and had my first taste of hairy crab!  Now I understand why some people are so passionate about it!  It's like uni!  So rich, and bursting with flavour! I liked it so much we are going to Min Jiang on Wednesday to have more! Then on Saturday, we went to coastal settlement for lunch, the fish tacos and milkshake were delish! I actually finished the tacos all by myself, save for a few bites that hao-e took. This is one type of fish I would gladly eat, really. Yesterday, steph suggested this eastern house of seafood zi char place out in chai chee, the salted egg crab dish was wonderful!  $28 for 2 crabs! wow!  and so near our place.  yumz.

First Visit to the Physio

OK, so amid some skepticism and by orders of the ortho surgeon, i turned up at the physio's office yesterday.  it turned out better than i'd expected.  This physio was specially selected for me as he's also a golf fitness instructor.  He apparently helps post-op patients get back into their golf game, so hopefully i'll be back at the range/course soon enough. So key takeaways yesterday were:- the twisting/unwinding of the spine in the  golf swing is better than keeping it stationary.  i need to transfer weight to right foot and wind up the spine, the bent right knee will be the limiting factor.  start with the hips, then gradually unwind the spine until all weight is on the left foot. i have bad standing and walking posture, weight is on the heels, knees are locked, back is arched, tummy is sticking out.  need to pull ribs in, soften the knees, straighten the lower back, transfer weight forward in other words i need to try slouching!  my definition of slouchy is a

Back Problems Again

Collected my new clubs on 28th Sept, guess what... i was out of action for almost 8 days with lower back pain.   Went to see the company doc to get a referral letter to see a specialist.  company doc feels I should re-do an MRI with an orthopedic surgeon, see if it's worsened since 4 years ago.  no surgery hopefully, since i don't have any tingling feeling down my legs i.e. disc has not totally "slipped".  in the meantime, her advice was no more golfing, she asked me,"you don't like pilates?" i replied "i do! but golf is funner!" Made an appointment with the ortho surgeon tomorrow. anyway this whole back situation sucks.
