My first Melissa shoes

Went shopping for hao-e's pillow...

Chanced upon book cafe and had lunch there... Pretty good.

The rings are done!!

once upon a time, there was a girl who loved everything pink.

Last weekend, we went to do a bout of shopping. Remember i'd blogged about joining the archdiocese choir for a christmas concert - raising funds for the renovation of the cathedral hall? well, the dress code was announced - white blouse and black ankle-length skirt. now where in the world was i going to find a black, ankle-length skirt? i was telling hao-e that i have to go where the aunties shop cos there's no way in hell that anyone under the age of 45 who will step out of the house in ankle-length skirt, what's more a black one!? so off we went to check out the 2 largest stores in town. haha. as expected, it ain't the fashion to sport long black skirts lor. found one in Gibbons but it was so expensive (USD200) that i told Hao-e i would pretend to fall ill and not perform with the choir if this was the only skirt available. =p so when we were nearly giving up the search, God must have heard my prayer. we found one at Coopers for USD70 - it's satin and quite formal...

NYC Part 2 - My Spoils (A)

Kenna nagged by jo, hk and sy that there aren't any photos of my shopping spoils in new york. didn't have much time to buy much lah. but i had a lot of fun just looking at the shop windows and admiring the wares. Let's see what i'd bought: 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of socks from Daffy's. I love the yellow shoes, they are so cute and comfy! The first time i wore them here in bermuda, i received a compliment! guess they are too bright. haha... 2 dresses, 1 t-shirt and a hat from H&M. This is my favourite store but the lines for the fitting rooms are horrendous. i could have died of exploding leg veins while waiting. 2 t-shirts, 1 bag, 1 pair of shorts with suspenders from Uni Qlo. It gives me great jap-piness to wear these things, and imagine my hubby to be takuya kimura. ah.... 2 t-shirts from American Eagles. Darn cheap like USD9+ each. damn essential for the weather here in bermuda. other mundane stuff i bought include loads of chinese food (noodles, ferm...

New Finds on Front Street

very happy to find shiseido's "white lucent" range and crabtree and evelyn's "la source" range of skincare at a.c. cooper's new store on front street. haha!! my silly hao-e. caused me to go on shopping overdrive just before coming over here cos he says there are no department stores here. sigh. no macy's or saks lah but there is marks and spencer, a.c. cooper and gibbons!! found some really cool stuff at teen's department in gibbons today. totally affordable too. all between $20-$40 only. very exciting. at least there will be some retail therapy for me when i need it. yay!

First Day Off Work

Woke up this morning at 7am, as per normal, blamed myself for being a twit and promptly fell asleep for another hour. Do not need to wake up so early now.. remember? Collected my JLPT cert at bugis, spent some time in Topshop, committing my favourite sin i.e. shopping and spending money on some t-shirts and a pair sunglass. Then went to Cantonment Police Station to pick up my certificate of no criminal conviction. Yeps need that to get my visa into Bermuda. Had lunch at Hong Lim Complex - one of my favourite teochew dish, pig trotter jelly and some claypot rice. Mum and i went to people's park complex after lunch and i lost myself in the beads/charms/DIY jewellery store. Wendy warned me that i would have to purchase $80+ to get started and she was right! I haven't started doing anything yet, but am definitely looking forward to it. In the afternoon, enjoyed a class of belly blitz at amore. it was nice to sweat it out. More classes to come!!
