Amazingly, the weather has turned warm, as per what's expected for spring. no more shivering under the covers, no more piling on the cashmere sweaters for work. just more water-proofing needed to weather the spring showers! thank God for the car. Incidentally, I finally took a good look at the rosary steph (Ong not looi) bought me on her europe trip. it is exquisite. i still don't really want to use it properly, cos it's too pretty. there're still the wooden mini-rosary from jasmine, green wrist rosary from my sponsor lynnette and my trusty old pink rosary bought from novena church when i was still in school, oh! and not to forget the rosary rings... i have so many rosaries, i'm literally spoilt for choice. Need to put a reminder in the calendar to abstain from meat on fridays. keep forgetting. bad bad me.
Emma has arrived too! Stephanie's (Looi not Ong) second baby has arrived. i just saw her photos on fb. wow! the stork has been dropping bundles of blessings everywhere eh?

Haley Tan is here!

Following on the heels of Shinyi's hot new babe Kaelynn is Haley Tan (Eric and Shoo's), born on the brink of spring season, 21st March 2009 (as his proud uncle says "3-2-1" very easy to remember). In case you were wondering, Haley is Hao-e's sister's firstborn, and the closest-related niece we have - we have several nephews and nieces who are kids of first cousins, a subtle difference/technicality there, if you know what i mean. We sent some flowers over to her room at East Shore - must commend www.simplyflowers.com.sg , itself an spinoff of the "Secret Garden" flower shop on the basement floor of raffles city, super-duper time and cost efficient, delivered on a sunday afternoon within 24 hours of ordering online! *CLAP CLAP* "Bravo!" *Cat-whistles* Wonder if Haley's chinese name is really earnings. hmm...

P(H)>0 today

brr.... we've been experiencing some extremely cold temperatures and strong winds this week. some soddin cold front from the north-west is engulfing us with winds, rain and possible hail! i was shocked when i heard the weather forecast on monday. that's ridiculous! how is hail possible in bermuda eh? but anyway, the said event H=hail=0. however, the P(H)>0 this morning.
i brought back a new toy from singapore - it's a brand-spanking-new hot pink ipod shuffle. wow. it's usefulness on long train and bus rides cannot be adequately described, it's just..... SWEET. it doesn't hurt that it fits nicely in a small purse. sure, not much control on what you goes through the earphones, but sometime losing some control can be quite refreshing - just reacting to what the shuffle throws at you. of course it'll help if you put some really groovy tunes in it. as with all our toys, this one gets a name too - "pinky"! as i was raving about pinky, my 4 year old 1st generation ipod mini "hao-e blue" started to get jealous. it was working fine before we left for singapore; it'd worked so well for 4 bloody years unlike steph's which broke 1 year after. i was so proud of it - bought directly from apple hq in silicon valley ok. so somehow the hard disk broke - hao-e blue is now working at 1/3 capacity. argh. we'd st
Just woke up from an 8-hour long afternoon nap. i finally took the little yellow pills that are guaranteed to clear up the nasal passage AND knock you clean out in the process. thankfully, they worked and i've stopped chaffing myself with kleenex tissues and sneezing myself silly. WHAT A HUGE BOUT OF THE COLD! never had it so bad as this. so i wasted away one day of the 2-day weekend, sleeping off this cold. bah. and i took another yellow pill, just so i can sleep somemore later and hopefully wake up to a new unsniffling me!

Back Safe and Sound

This is my first post since we left Bermuda for Singapore more than 3 weeks ago. We are battling serious jet lag this time. it might be the age-factor (yikes!) or because we didn't rest properly on the flights (yes plural!) back cos we were busy trying to exhaust all the new movies on krisworld, or maybe a combination of both lah. but both of us have been trying very hard to keep awake at 3pm. yes, the sleep monster strikes at that hour! thank God we are going to remove time saving tonight, so we have 1 less hour to correct this weekend. talking about movies, twilight was amazingly easy on the eye! although i hesitate to call ourselves twilight converts given that i was highly skeptical at first. but the eye candy in the form of Rob Pattersin/Edward Cullen is really irresistible (did you know Rob Pattersin was Cedric in Harry Potter??) .... argh. i wanna get bitten by this vamp too lor! BITE ME! Hao-e even bought New Moon (the sequal) to read this weekend and i spent almost
