Gosh, he's aged sooo well

His Swoon-worthiness Aaron "mangled-mandarin-swinging-hips" Kwok... sigh, I wanna look this good in 36 years. Maintenance is key. Time to put on that mask and relax...

Merry Christmas!!

It's the day after the day after Christmas, have you enjoyed celebrating the birth of Christ?  We had some surprise visitors on Christmas day, and had to run around getting soon kuehs and egg tarts for them, thank God we live in an area full of good food. Hao-e and I were lucky this year to experience snow for a bit in Zurich.  We're not winter/snow people, we don't ski nor snowboard and 15 degrees celcius is the minimum comfortable liveable temperature.  Snow is pretty and yet irksome.  I was in constant fear of falling and killing myself on the ice/sludge... don't want to live in snowy place, nah, no way. I was feeling a bit under the weather all weekend and it finally culminated in this runny nose, phlegmy cough, sore throat fest that has refused to budge.  Too bad there aren't people in the office for me to pass the germs to... =p  back to tropical illnesses, just have to endure them

Mind over Matter

Do you like the UK version? or... the Hollywood version? The Power of Concentration By MARIA KONNIKOVA MEDITATION and mindfulness: the words conjure images of yoga retreats and Buddhist monks. But perhaps they should evoke a very different picture: a man in a deerstalker, puffing away at a curved pipe, Mr. Sherlock Holmes himself. The world’s greatest fictional detective is someone who knows the value of concentration, of “throwing his brain out of action,” as Dr. Watson puts it. He is the quintessential unitasker in a multitasking world. More often than not, when a new case is presented, Holmes does nothing more than sit back in his leather chair, close his eyes and put together his long-fingered hands in an attitude that begs silence. He may be the most inactive active detective out there. His approach to thought captures the very thing that cognitive psychologists mean when they say mindfulness. Though the concept originates in ancient Buddhist, Hindu and Chi

what have I been up to?

My latest find on iTunes - Birdy .   Get. Her. Album. she doesn't sound her age at all.  Very refreshing.  I got goosebumps listening to the song "People Help the People". I really thnk Jade Seah should quit as a DJ.  I think she sounds uncomfortable on-air.  I really don't enjoy her show but sadly have to listen to her after lunch, when I'm sleepy and really need some music to keep my spirits up. I heart blue nails. just got my toe nails painted a very dark blue, almost black even.  reflective of my mood. I am looking forward to a dinner at nosh  this weekend, belated anniversary celebration for 7 brilliant years. thanks hao-e.
Listening to Buble's Christmas Album right now, hearing him crooning 'Ave Maria' helps me start the day.  It's day 13 in Zurich....  I probably weigh 3 kg more from all the swiss food... super heavy stuff, heavy on the cream, heavy on the carbs, heavy on the sodium.  extremely fattening and not all that tasty too.  the cold isn't helping, cos you just feel like eating all the time! i am really craving for good chinese food right now. Eight days more to go... count down begins.
