A couple more days till we fly off to HK. The island territory has been hit by a cold snap causing close to freezing temperatures (!) last weekend.  It is slowly turning warmer and forecast to be fairly normal when we arrive, i.e. 15-20 degrees Celsius, so hopefully the weather service does not get it wrong.  But just in case they do screw up again like they did over the weekend, we'll have a set of heat tech clothing.  Thank you uniqlo for your fine invention. Looking forward to meeting my tai kah jeh again. She's probably going to have a good laugh at my terrible Cantonese and i'll cringe at her attempts at lahs and lohs. Also looking forward to all the fantastic tasting food and shopping... CNY sales please.

It may sound weird to some, but in Singapore it's really a common phenomenon...  Hao-e and I have 2 wedding anniversaries! The first was our civil ceremony a.k.a. the thing you must do before you can get your HDB flat, for us, that special day was on 7th September 2005.  The second was our church wedding ceremony a.k.a. the thing you must do for God, family and friends, which was on 16th December 2006. I tend to think of 7th September as Hao-e's and my sister's birthday [yes they coincidentally share the same birthdate!], and 16th December as our proper wedding anniversary. olive oil/balsamic vinegar dip with fresh bread Some sort of salad with onions and buffalo tomatoes New vocabulary - Carabinero prawns Beef cheeks Clams in Sherry Still looking good after 10 years of marriage!
