Shujun's Birthday!!

Seems like yesterday when the new year 2005 started.. now it's May, and we've celebrated Beek's, Lihui's and Wanping's birthdays. Time seems to be passing too fast for birthdays for i refuse to admit that i'm older [again], yet it passes too slowly when i'm sad or down.

Ah well, life isn't a box a chocolates. nor a piece of cake. it's full of cakes! birthday cakes especially. in 2 days, one of my best mates will be turning 24. it's been more than a decade, us knowing each other from sec sch days. haha!

I just want you to know that you'll always going to be my lap cheong. my very cute friend who can sing "one night in Beijing" in both guy and gal's voices and break the record too! my ultra loyal friend who stuck by me all these years, listening to my whining and complaints. i have a lot of respect for ppl who can stand my nonsense, cos well, i'm not an easy person to like.. ask my buddies they'll tell you. [better still, ask kh, he knows best when he feels like pulling out his hair. haha..]

As we forge ahead in this seemingly endless road called life, trying to sear our images and footprints into history, may our friendship remain - unwavering no matter how strong the wind blows. never changing. never demanding. always supportive. always sincere.

Happy Easter!

Busy Easter weekend! Got my screening report from the doctors on Thursday, I have to cut down on sugars, oily food and carbs.... uhoh, nothing about the lumps so i'm grateful. Marc Jacobs bag arrived in the evening, woohoo!   Good Friday was spent in Church and shopping at Sim Lim Square for Hao-e's new PC. Pilates on Saturday morning after a week's break, super out of shape.  think i should probably start doing some exercises at home and maybe go for swim downstairs when i get a chance. Chewy had a good scrubbing session at noon then off to watch Le Noir at Sands Theatre on Saturday afternoon, fun! Cousin-in-law's wedding dinner at Conrad on Saturday evening, no shark's fin which was a bummer. Easter mass on Sunday morning followed by Qingming thingamie at Mt Vernon. dinner at swizzle inn

last night we had a most scrumptious bbq dinner at the original swizzle inn . much much much better than the dinner we had some days back with O and K at the branch in warwick. woo.... i had the char-grilled prime rib and the much famed rum swizzle, while hao-e had the margarita shrimp and strawberry daiquiri. blogging about it brings back nice memories. heh. Oh! C and i found some fresh watercress at the marketplace yesterday. so today's lunch we had watercress soup. i've been yearning for some light clear vegetable soup for some time... especially after a discussion with HL about the lack of vege variety here, and how she spotted kailan on the island! KAILAN !!! how did they manage to get their hands on kailan ?! i was joking with HL that one of the chefs must have secretly brought over some seeds and planted some in his back garden. or else why doesn't kailan appear in the vege aisle of the marketplace as well?! oh, and i bought some canned longan, jackfrui...

I'm down with flu

am at home today, trying to recover quickly from this flu that's causing this ache in my back. shite. supposed to try this new class called Step Blitz last evening, but i just couldn't make it... doc gave some sleep-inducing medicine, which made me so drowsy i fell asleep at 9pm and missed desperate housewives. sigh. about the weekend, spent sunday with hao-e at sim lim. couldn't understand a word of the gibberish they were spouting there. what gigs and rams and bytes etc. the first i thought was a performance, the second an animal and the last would be the things mosquites do to humans. went hunting around level 4 for a flat LCD screen. walked to and fro 3 locations before he was finally happy with his purchase. poor other salesman, he looked a bit worn out after that. so now we are going to have 2 PCs at home, so that poor me can surf the net when i feel like it.
