friendster freak

so i've been busy nurturing the friendster freak in me. its been fun leaving messages and comments for my friends from the different stages of my life. i haven't found many of them yet, but it is my hope that i can maintain this from now on, and not lose contact with these wonderful ppl again.

and jo has finally reappeared on the face of the earth.

CONGRATS brave girl! i miss you loads too.

because of my birthday, many people have sent cards and emails and messages this week. i'm very very touched. i'd just like to say that i'm really bad at remembering birthdays. so unless you are on friendster, and have listed your birthdate, it is going to be very difficult for me to remember your birthday. i know i know, i'm horrible, useless, hopeless and totally reliant on technology to remember stuff. i even forgot lapcheong's birthday. send me straight to hell, i deserve it.

my birthday resolutions this year:
  1. to reply to emails within 3 days (unless i'm on vacation)
  2. to learn a new skill (either a new language or sport or something like econs which i detest)
  3. haven't thought of yet, will update later

3.5 more working days. my mind is on holiday! last evening's kickboxing class totally killed me! i huffed and puffed and threatened to punch my imaginary opponent senseless, but in the end, it was i that suffered, not the air molecules that got knocked around. my body is aching like a 90-year-old who's just completed 100 push-ups. i couldn't sleep last night because of the pain. i had to wake hao-e up to massage my shoulder-blades which were so sore and is still kicking up a ruckus behind me. my gosh! i tis old and feeble.

Accident on Front St

Hao-e and i just witnessed a horrible freak accident on Front St. Tonight is the first Harbour Night of 2007, and we happened to be in town for dinner. After dinner, we walked along Front St looking at the stalls set up along the side walk. There were stalls selling jewellery, ice-cream, hand-crafts, pepper jam/sauce, soap etc. And there was quite a good crowd as well cos there were 2 cruise ships docked at the Hamilton harbour. When the gombey dancers started their performance, we stood on the side walk of Burnaby St watching, gaping and taking photos. All of a sudden this horse carriage with 2 horses just sped along crushing the crowds underneath. The horses trampled over and the carriage rolled over some ppl!!! Eeks, we were shocked beyond words, thinking it could have been us. The parameds came and took 4 on stretchers. It was horrible. Hope noone is seriously hurt.

The Tudors

I just realised how good looking Jonathon Rhys Meyers is? Gosh, i just love his chiseled face and beautiful eyes. Anyway, so i chanced upon this new series loosely based on THE Henry VIII, second king of the Tudor Dynasty. You guys should watch it if you are as besotted with him and as fascinated with anything royal as i am. hehe.... So i went to find out a bit more about the rather infamous king on wiki and here's some trivia about his eventful life ( i bet, with so many women around him?!) Technically, Henry was only married twice. Four of his marriages were annulled which means they never took place. His court jester was named Will Somers . The only surviving piece of clothing worn by Henry VIII is a cap of maintenance , awarded to the Mayor of Waterford , along with a bearing sword, in 1536 . It currently resides in the Waterford Museum of Treasures . Henry VIII was the first member of the English Royal Family to wear silk stockings.
