dinner at swizzle inn

last night we had a most scrumptious bbq dinner at the original swizzle inn. much much much better than the dinner we had some days back with O and K at the branch in warwick. woo.... i had the char-grilled prime rib and the much famed rum swizzle, while hao-e had the margarita shrimp and strawberry daiquiri. blogging about it brings back nice memories. heh.

Oh! C and i found some fresh watercress at the marketplace yesterday. so today's lunch we had watercress soup. i've been yearning for some light clear vegetable soup for some time... especially after a discussion with HL about the lack of vege variety here, and how she spotted kailan on the island! KAILAN!!! how did they manage to get their hands on kailan?! i was joking with HL that one of the chefs must have secretly brought over some seeds and planted some in his back garden. or else why doesn't kailan appear in the vege aisle of the marketplace as well?!

oh, and i bought some canned longan, jackfruit and rambutan as well as chinchow and even salted eggs from marketplace yesterday. salted eggs are really good, thank God i bought a dozen! ate 2 just now for lunch, so there's 10 left to ration. these "treasures" don't appear often so don't blame me for storing them up in the pantry. haha.

this morning we went in search of lightbulbs at PJ's and Gorham's. then we went to Miles and found to my relief, the last 2 bottles of kimchi on the island!! that shall have to do for the time being until i get myself out of the island for some really authentic korean food!!

H-A-P-P-Y!

3.5 more working days. my mind is on holiday! last evening's kickboxing class totally killed me! i huffed and puffed and threatened to punch my imaginary opponent senseless, but in the end, it was i that suffered, not the air molecules that got knocked around. my body is aching like a 90-year-old who's just completed 100 push-ups. i couldn't sleep last night because of the pain. i had to wake hao-e up to massage my shoulder-blades which were so sore and is still kicking up a ruckus behind me. my gosh! i tis old and feeble.

Back Safe and Sound

This is my first post since we left Bermuda for Singapore more than 3 weeks ago. We are battling serious jet lag this time. it might be the age-factor (yikes!) or because we didn't rest properly on the flights (yes plural!) back cos we were busy trying to exhaust all the new movies on krisworld, or maybe a combination of both lah. but both of us have been trying very hard to keep awake at 3pm. yes, the sleep monster strikes at that hour! thank God we are going to remove time saving tonight, so we have 1 less hour to correct this weekend. talking about movies, twilight was amazingly easy on the eye! although i hesitate to call ourselves twilight converts given that i was highly skeptical at first. but the eye candy in the form of Rob Pattersin/Edward Cullen is really irresistible (did you know Rob Pattersin was Cedric in Harry Potter??) .... argh. i wanna get bitten by this vamp too lor! BITE ME! Hao-e even bought New Moon (the sequal) to read this weekend and i spent almost ...

Back To Reality

It's over! We're finally married (in the eyes of the Church!). It was really pretty fun last sat, thank God for the sunny weather (a bit hot lah, but at least it didn't rain till after), for the wonderful guests and my fantastic friends. hope it wasn't too uncomfortable under the sun for everyone.
