TGIF

This is the end of the first work week for us since returning last weekend. Officially, we're now half-way through the last work-day of the week. YIPPEE!!!

It was tough getting over the jet lag this time, especially for me. Took me all of 6 days. Not too bad actually, considering i'm correcting 2 hours in each day. Last night was the first night i slept till the alarm woke me up at 6.30am this morning. yeps, all 8 hours full of sleep. Didn't toss and turn on the bed trying to get back to sleep at 4.30am. Nope, just peaceful rest. I Like!

How's everyone getting on in Singapore? Gosh, it was so difficult boarding that flight in T3 last Thursday. My sis, get this, NOT my mum ok, MY SISTER actually teared at the airport. Aww... *pat pat back*. We'll be back before you even know it. In the meantime, continue missing your little sister, cos i'll be missing you from here too.

Oh! we are heading to London on 2 - 11 Mar. Can't wait for that to happen. i'm already planning shows/plays/ballets to watch whilst there. it's just bloody exciting to be back after almost 4 years. but knowing london, i bet most of the streets in zone 1 should still be the same, so no worries about getting lost. i'm looking forward to belgo, ten ten tei and four seasons, my old haunts. yummy yummy food!!!

there is a wine-tasting event at Gosling's tonight with dinner thrown in too. not a wine fan, cos it sends me straight to bed so it will be alcohol in moderation tonight. if it's beer or rum, then it's a different story. heh. i recently went to roy's house where he hosted dinner, home-made no less, for a bunch of us old friends. i brought rum cake, some beer, and a bottle of barcardi rum. gosh, i must have seemed like an alcoholic, cos it was just me and my bottle of barcardi all night. haha. coupled with rum cake too. i'm a rum addict. this place is brilliant for me, you know? hahaha... that's the alcoholic talking again.

anyway, it's the lenten season. for those who paused and thought "WTF?", you can skip this paragraph, cos i'm going to go on and on about religion-y things. SCROLL TO NEXT PARA. So it's the lenten period. Hao-e and i have decided to give up red meat for the 40 days before Good Fri and Easter. no more hamburgers, no steaks, no bbq ribs, etc. yeps, and i'll throw in another "no rum for 40 days" resolution too. considering my like for the liquid, not bad siah? thanks, i know i am good.

anyway, i believe new year celebration finally ends! wasn't it like Yuan Xiao yesterday? or is it today? HAPPY YUAN XIAO JIE!

Enough of my ramblings. Leave a comment, tell me what you did for V-day.

The Tudors

I just realised how good looking Jonathon Rhys Meyers is? Gosh, i just love his chiseled face and beautiful eyes. Anyway, so i chanced upon this new series loosely based on THE Henry VIII, second king of the Tudor Dynasty. You guys should watch it if you are as besotted with him and as fascinated with anything royal as i am. hehe.... So i went to find out a bit more about the rather infamous king on wiki and here's some trivia about his eventful life ( i bet, with so many women around him?!) Technically, Henry was only married twice. Four of his marriages were annulled which means they never took place. His court jester was named Will Somers . The only surviving piece of clothing worn by Henry VIII is a cap of maintenance , awarded to the Mayor of Waterford , along with a bearing sword, in 1536 . It currently resides in the Waterford Museum of Treasures . Henry VIII was the first member of the English Royal Family to wear silk stockings.

Happy Easter!

Busy Easter weekend! Got my screening report from the doctors on Thursday, I have to cut down on sugars, oily food and carbs.... uhoh, nothing about the lumps so i'm grateful. Marc Jacobs bag arrived in the evening, woohoo!   Good Friday was spent in Church and shopping at Sim Lim Square for Hao-e's new PC. Pilates on Saturday morning after a week's break, super out of shape.  think i should probably start doing some exercises at home and maybe go for swim downstairs when i get a chance. Chewy had a good scrubbing session at noon then off to watch Le Noir at Sands Theatre on Saturday afternoon, fun! Cousin-in-law's wedding dinner at Conrad on Saturday evening, no shark's fin which was a bummer. Easter mass on Sunday morning followed by Qingming thingamie at Mt Vernon. Sunday brunch at York Hotel's Penang Hawker Buffet, yum! Watched 1.5 movies too - GI Joe (meh) and SVFV (vulgar).  SVFV was the movie that  was banned and made the h...
it's funny how you learn things about yourself - your likes and dislikes - every single day. here's a list of dislikes: eager beavers people who fake an accent people who talk more than they do people who claim credit when they've done nothing (oh! old debts) back-stabbers gossipers (is there such a word?) that stir up trouble like there ain't enough of that already?! inconsiderate people .... more to come, i just know it is it too much to ask to have decent people around? there's a chinese saying, that even on the same hand the fingers are of different lengths. but is it really impossible to have everyone cross a certain threshold of decency and not stick out like a sore thumb? i've often wondered why some 40 year olds act the way they do - as if they hate the whole world. i think i'm in danger of being that sort of 40 year old as the list gets longer, and i meet more obnoxious people. argh.
