Am back at work today. Took 2 days off this week, yesterday and the day before to prepare for something that hao-e has been wanting me to do all year! one down, one more to go in 2 weeks time. wish me luck!!

For a population of 60k, we have been having a lot of fatal accidents recently. this weekend, we've had the 9th person die as a result of an accident. I know the number is pretty modest but there are only 60k of us here you know, compared to the 4++ million in singapore. if you know what i'm doing now, you would know i get the super first hand gory details of where, when, how and why they didn't make it. To be honest with you, i've been trying to drive really carefully here, cos the bikers here are so "hiong" and you don't need to do much to get a bike license here - in fact, a lot of them are WITHOUT licenses - they weave in and out of traffic in the non-existent "3rd" lane. I've always wondered why bikers don't stay in the centre of the proper lanes, don't they know how dangerous it is to drive into oncoming traffic only to swerve in at the last second. i almost always have a heart attack everytime i'm on the road here. and i make it a point to check my blindspots every single time, cos i really don't want to get into an accident - no matter who's at fault, cos it'll be on my conscience.

as i mentioned to hao-e the other day, it's no joke when you're involved in an accident here. both lanes of traffic get backed up (there is only one lane per direction), and how's the ambulance vehicle supposed to get to the scene to save anyone? lo and behold if it happens on the eastern or western ends of the island. it's an hour's drive from the hospital to the ends and back. argh, not much help i think those ambulances are in an emergency. so better not get into an accident at all. *cross fingers*

Be careful girlie. Don't want anything to happen to that lovely mug of yours. Quite apparently, retarded road behaviour is universal. - Jo

3.5 more working days. my mind is on holiday! last evening's kickboxing class totally killed me! i huffed and puffed and threatened to punch my imaginary opponent senseless, but in the end, it was i that suffered, not the air molecules that got knocked around. my body is aching like a 90-year-old who's just completed 100 push-ups. i couldn't sleep last night because of the pain. i had to wake hao-e up to massage my shoulder-blades which were so sore and is still kicking up a ruckus behind me. my gosh! i tis old and feeble.

Back Safe and Sound

This is my first post since we left Bermuda for Singapore more than 3 weeks ago. We are battling serious jet lag this time. it might be the age-factor (yikes!) or because we didn't rest properly on the flights (yes plural!) back cos we were busy trying to exhaust all the new movies on krisworld, or maybe a combination of both lah. but both of us have been trying very hard to keep awake at 3pm. yes, the sleep monster strikes at that hour! thank God we are going to remove time saving tonight, so we have 1 less hour to correct this weekend. talking about movies, twilight was amazingly easy on the eye! although i hesitate to call ourselves twilight converts given that i was highly skeptical at first. but the eye candy in the form of Rob Pattersin/Edward Cullen is really irresistible (did you know Rob Pattersin was Cedric in Harry Potter??) .... argh. i wanna get bitten by this vamp too lor! BITE ME! Hao-e even bought New Moon (the sequal) to read this weekend and i spent almost ...

Back To Reality

It's over! We're finally married (in the eyes of the Church!). It was really pretty fun last sat, thank God for the sunny weather (a bit hot lah, but at least it didn't rain till after), for the wonderful guests and my fantastic friends. hope it wasn't too uncomfortable under the sun for everyone.
