Trying to plan a party is not easy. Number one problem - no venue! Although our 3-room bedok flat isn't the most spacious of all options, it was cosy and we could definitely fit in at least 4-6 guests comfortably for dinner. In our current hole in the wall apartment, we are hard-pressed for space if we invite more than 2 guests. we don't have a proper dining table, just a high bar-top like counter and 4 bar chairs that are kindly "flaky". We had moved out the extra 2-seater sofa, when we realised we were rapidly outgrowing the apartment last summer. so now all we have is a three-seater couch and pretty much nothing else in the living room. there just isn't enough space lor.

so we've established that our little apartment isn't quite suitable to host house parties, but we have the longest weekend ever to get through for this year's Christmas, how now? i guess we have to invite 2 guests for each meal. haha. what a party.

last night we had a most scrumptious bbq dinner at the original swizzle inn . much much much better than the dinner we had some days back with O and K at the branch in warwick. woo.... i had the char-grilled prime rib and the much famed rum swizzle, while hao-e had the margarita shrimp and strawberry daiquiri. blogging about it brings back nice memories. heh. KAILAN !!! how did they manage to get their hands on kailan ?! i was joking with HL that one of the chefs must have secretly brought over some seeds and planted some in his back garden. or else why doesn't kailan appear in the vege aisle of the marketplace as well?! oh, and i bought some canned longan, jackfrui...

Amazon Prime Now - Experience So Far

I use Amazon on a regular basis to bring in my thermacare belts for my lower back.  As an avid online shopper, I buy a lot stuff online amazon, qoo10, etc.  Imagine my excitement when Amazon decided to open a distribution centre locally?  No more shipping to a PO box in US!  No more worrying about buying over US$125 to get free shipping to Singapore! Wow! And holy smokes, 2-hour deliveries! I just had to try it out. So I downloaded the app, (yes, you heard right, you can't order using the regular amazon website on your pc/laptop.  You have to use the prime now app, not even the regular amazon app...) and browsed through the range.  Hmm... that's sort of disappointing... I mean it's nice to have groceries delivered in 2 hours, especially if you decide on the spur of the moment to have a party at home or something, but the products available were certainly limited. Happy Easter!

Busy Easter weekend! Got my screening report from the doctors on Thursday, I have to cut down on sugars, oily food and carbs.... uhoh, nothing about the lumps so i'm grateful. Marc Jacobs bag arrived in the evening, woohoo!   Good Friday was spent in Church and shopping at Sim Lim Square for Hao-e's new PC. Pilates on Saturday morning after a week's break, super out of shape.  think i should probably start doing some exercises at home and maybe go for swim downstairs when i get a chance. Chewy had a good scrubbing session at noon then off to watch Le Noir at Sands Theatre on Saturday afternoon, fun! Cousin-in-law's wedding dinner at Conrad on Saturday evening, no shark's fin which was a bummer. Easter mass on Sunday morning followed by Qingming thingamie at Mt Vernon.
