Went bonkas when i heard that the consultant at denticare wanted to charge me $500 per bottom wisdom tooth and up to $100 per upper tooth. yikes! sounded damn painful even before the process of extraction had begun.
didn't buy the argument that a) he's that good and b) bottom teeth are very hard to extract. in any case did not hear of ppl paying through their noses for dental surgery.
so made some calls, hao-e made some as well. and found that in order to qualify for subsidies, i had to get a referral from the polyclinic, then make my way to natl dental care at outram park to see the dentist/surgeon there. the costs would not add up to a thousand and after medisave subsidies i should pay only less than $300. sounds good to me. except that now i have to queue up at the polyclinic at bedok, prob spend half a day there to see a doctor just to get a referral letter from him/her. sighs.
