WELCOME TO BERMUDA!!!
Yeps, we arrived on Saturday evening (Sun morn Singapore time) after some very long flights and mafanic flight transfers. Thank goodness for business class, or else i think we would have died on the way to nyc - imagine 24 hours in economy?!?! the transit in frankfurt was a good thing just to stretch our legs... didn't have much trouble with customs and immigration here, but imagine our surprise at hearing a live band in the immigration hall of the airport!?! (someone put in a suggestion and see if AM will implement it. nic, how about it? remember to save me some of the award money if it is really implemented... heh)
The weather over the weekend has been pretty cold and chilly. in fact, i think i've caught a cold already with my nose running all over the place. but today's a great day with lots of sun and very little breeze. temperature today is expected to hit a high of 20deg. yippee!!
today marks the first day of my zuo-bo-dom. went to open an account this morning at the bank (as expected, it took a very long time, 2 hours!!) and was asked why my last name was different from a husband's and why am i still a "ms"??! apparently the locals are forced to adopt their husband's last names... haha... guess that explains the "mrs julie cooper-nichol" syndrome a la "The O.C." where the number of hyphens indicate the number of (failed) marriages you have had and keeps up with your children's last names (of various marriages). Hmm.... I don't think i would go with the hyphen trend and in any case, singaporeans like the mrs xxx-yyy way where xxx is the husband's family name while yyy is the maiden surname (which isn't quite "The O.C." way, so "ms ong" is just fine for me thank you very much. Hor, dellise?
anyway, Hamilton city (not quite what i would call a "city") consists of 3 parallel streets and a few intersections. Went wandering through the streets after sending hao-e to work and was done by noon. (uhuh, that's why there isn't much to do here dahlings!!) Now i'm back in the hotel, blogging and viewing the korean show i brought along. will post some of the pictures i tool over the easter weekend as soon as i find the wires for the camera. heh. pls bear with me. i'm working on bermuda time (i.e. very slow...) =P
