Busy as a Bee can Be, i tell ya

it has been busy busy busy... choir practice has been going pretty well - i've realised i may not have the perfect vocals, but i can certainly sing in a choir. and the alto part is really quite interesting - cos we're never really on the melody (unlike the sopranos who have such an easy job), so it's interesting to hear the harmonising.... puts years of ABRSM theory into practice.

belly dancing has stopped abruptly because someone from immigration decided that the teacher needed a work permit to teach the class - even though all proceeds go to charity and she doesn't pocket anything?!

Hao-e and i have been taking turns getting sick. slept the whole long weekend away. the weather's not helping - it suddenly turned pretty cold this last few days. haven't turned the a/c on in the car - it was cool enough outside. just got nin jiom pei par gao from miles market and have been diligently taking it, but it hasn't helped much either. strepsils as well. ah well.
  • friend SY in NZ has just bought a huge house and 2 honda fits - one pink and one blue! congrats on new job, everything and i really really dig your home.
  • B just came back from Silk Road - i want to go there as well!
  • Colleagues' babies have turned one! (that was quick!) Happy Birthday Chloe and Clare!
  • R is considering getting an emba - i just realised there's such a thing vs the normal mba thing.
  • Sister is going to Phuket end of month!
  • Happy birthday to Godma! and enjoy tai-tai-dom in London!
  • 2 weeks left to Boston trip! Yay!

3.5 more working days. my mind is on holiday! last evening's kickboxing class totally killed me! i huffed and puffed and threatened to punch my imaginary opponent senseless, but in the end, it was i that suffered, not the air molecules that got knocked around. my body is aching like a 90-year-old who's just completed 100 push-ups. i couldn't sleep last night because of the pain. i had to wake hao-e up to massage my shoulder-blades which were so sore and is still kicking up a ruckus behind me. my gosh! i tis old and feeble.

Accident on Front St

Hao-e and i just witnessed a horrible freak accident on Front St. Tonight is the first Harbour Night of 2007, and we happened to be in town for dinner. After dinner, we walked along Front St looking at the stalls set up along the side walk. There were stalls selling jewellery, ice-cream, hand-crafts, pepper jam/sauce, soap etc. And there was quite a good crowd as well cos there were 2 cruise ships docked at the Hamilton harbour. When the gombey dancers started their performance, we stood on the side walk of Burnaby St watching, gaping and taking photos. All of a sudden this horse carriage with 2 horses just sped along crushing the crowds underneath. The horses trampled over and the carriage rolled over some ppl!!! Eeks, we were shocked beyond words, thinking it could have been us. The parameds came and took 4 on stretchers. It was horrible. Hope noone is seriously hurt.

The Tudors

I just realised how good looking Jonathon Rhys Meyers is? Gosh, i just love his chiseled face and beautiful eyes. Anyway, so i chanced upon this new series loosely based on THE Henry VIII, second king of the Tudor Dynasty. You guys should watch it if you are as besotted with him and as fascinated with anything royal as i am. hehe.... So i went to find out a bit more about the rather infamous king on wiki and here's some trivia about his eventful life ( i bet, with so many women around him?!) Technically, Henry was only married twice. Four of his marriages were annulled which means they never took place. His court jester was named Will Somers . The only surviving piece of clothing worn by Henry VIII is a cap of maintenance , awarded to the Mayor of Waterford , along with a bearing sword, in 1536 . It currently resides in the Waterford Museum of Treasures . Henry VIII was the first member of the English Royal Family to wear silk stockings.
