Apologies I've been neglecting this blog. Been busy with work and life in general. Ahem, i do pack my schedule quite a bit with drama watching, friend gatherings, shopping (both physical and web-based), surfing the net, etc. They are not life-and-death activities, yes, but i still feel very occupied. Even if I have zero real kiddos in my life. Really. Apparently a husband and pet dog does not count as real children or responsibilities, and that apparently maketh me a darn free person, whatever.
First of all, I'm happy to announce that I'm feeling very excited today, even though it's a dreadful Monday, but it's a Monday of a short work week with a long weekend, so it feels like Tuesday, which kinda makes it less sickening. I used to have a phobia of taking the bus or train, not because they are unreliable (well to a certain extent they do fail, sometimes rather horrifically like last week for example) but largely because I was worried I wouldn't be able to handle the journey. My mental process goes something like this, if the bus/train is empty and I get to sit down, will my back be able to take 30-40 continuous minutes in an uncomfortable seat? But if the bus/train is packed and I have to stand and hang on to the rails, will my back be able to take the sudden jerks of the bus/train? What if there's congestion on the roads and what if the train gets stuck prolonging my agony? All these negative thoughts have prevented me from taking buses/trains for the past couple of months. I gave myself no choice but to invest in grabtaxi and be alternately tolerant of and amused by the taxi drivers that come in all shapes and sizes... alright, enough side-tracking, I am very glad to announce, *cue drumroll* that on this 13th day of the 7th month of the year 2015, I finally tried taking the bus to work. *cue cymbals or gong if cymbals are unavailable* No biggie, back was tame, one more yay for me!
Since i'm doing so well, I'm going to try taking the bus back home tonight. That'll be exciting, I'll write all about it as soon as I can.
